    Video! Video! Video!

I have done several articles recently about the importance of video in your marketing. With the impact of COVID-19, the need for Video Marketing is now more important than ever, and is no longer an option. Think about SEO 5 years ago. The market and the world changed, and SEO is now required if you want your practice’s website to be found.

I realized recently that your patients truly have no clue how sterile your practice and operatories were Pre-COVID 19. They certainly have no clue how you, and your team, have the knowledge and have been trained over many years to deal with viruses of all kinds. By far, the best way to communicate this is through video. The most effective and engaging method is to create multiple videos showing everything and anything you can think of. From your sterilizing equipment, to the amount of training and knowledge you have about how to be and stay safe, and how to keep your patients safe from all viruses.

Several of our new Video Marketing clients are creating videos demonstrating their front office staff cleaning the office, and sterilizing common surfaces in-between patient visits. Some clients are electing to teach their patients how to properly wear a mask through videos (a common mistake is not covering your nose, since that’s primarily where you breathe) which some people are unaware of.

To further increase the effectiveness of the videos, we are sharing them on their social media, including them with their email newsletters, adding to YouTube, and their websites. You can always say that you have stepped up your cleaning and increased safety measures for your patients, but having your patients see that you are doing this makes a bigger impact, your patients will remember it.

We all keep hearing about, “The New Normal”.  I am not 100% sure what that means as a whole, but thinking about how we have all been forced to practice Social Distancing during this time, I believe that many of your patients will continue to Socially Distance in their everyday lives for the foreseeable future. This gives you a unique opportunity to get in front of your patients and show them that you care. This sets you apart from your competition, and you leave a lasting impression on current and future patients.

What does “The New Normal” mean to your Dental Practice? Most Dental Practices thrive on referrals from their patients, and although Dentists like to think it is solely because of their clinical skills, we know from surveys over the years that it is the overall feeling and interactions from the entire dental team. These interactions can be your greatest friend, or the biggest hinderance and can make or break the patient’s trust in your practice. Going the extra mile and showing your patients that you care gives them the confidence to refer their family, friends, and neighbors, to your practice. So, in “The New Normal” for Dental Practices, you need to show your patients that their safety is your #1 priority. Your entire team needs to be dedicated to giving every patient the safest, and best experience possible.

So, that leaves us with one option to compensate for the reduction of the in-office Social bonding. That option is to have a strong, consistent Video Marketing (Messaging) Plan in place.  Part of that plan includes getting Video Testimonial, or Video Reviews, from your patients and getting those out to your social media platforms, and getting them on your website.  Getting Reviews for Google and Facebook are still critical in your overall marketing plan. Video Reviews are the best way to form a stronger bond, and build trust with potential new patients that are finding your website from Google, Facebook, and the many other ways via your marketing plan.

Another extremely important part of your Video Marketing Plan is creating video to continually educate your patients and potential patients about all you can help them with in Dentistry. Videos that you can easily produce (that will carry a ton of value for your patients) include Periodontal disease and its many effects on the body, TMJ, and Sleep Apnea, and Cosmetic Dentistry services available due to technology.  You, as a dentist, have an endless amount of knowledge to share with your patients, and your potential patients, so show them why you are the only dental practice that they should count on!

Of course, you will want to incorporate social aspects to your video marketing like, showing anything that your practice is doing to help your community, to office tours, to fun facts about your team, and really anything that you may put in a Facebook post, or that you may be talking about inside your practice with your patients about life.

Video. Video. Video.  I really can’t say it enough!!

  • Marketing Your Practice in an Unprecedented Time – Staying Connected to your Patients during Social Distancing

Marketing Your Practice in an Unprecedented Time – Staying Connected to your Patients during Social Distancing

In almost 25 years of marketing, our marketing company has seen the best and worst economies of all our lifetimes. What we are seeing now is certainly unprecedented. We could have never imagined the place that we are all living in during the COVID-19 Social Distancing orders, and it’s not just our community, or our cities, or our states or our country, it is the entire world that is suffering.  We have had many Dentists ask us what we recommend for a dental practice for marketing during COVID-19 social distancing?

We are still strongly suggesting that our clients continue with their current SEO (Search Engine Optimization) campaigns. SEO takes months to see progress. If you were to stop with your SEO services today and you were to start two months from now, it could actually take you many, many months to get back to where you were ranked in the search engines. If you are in a financial position to do so, we would recommend increasing your SEO reach as now is a great time to make gains in your SEO since many of your competitors will stop doing SEO, and start back up when things open back up.

We are also strongly suggesting continuing doing social media. Now is a great time to be communicating to your patients and followers about oral health during this time of social distancing. We know people’s habits have changed during this time. This is a great time for you as a dentist to educate about oral health and how important it is. Also, this is a time to be social. Share with your patients and your follower’s things that you and your family are doing and let them know you are there for their questions and emergencies as well.

The number one thing we are recommending during this time of Social Distancing is video marketing, and specifically using personalized video showing your face and your team’s face and voice during social distancing.

This is the best way to stay connected to your patients. Research says: 72% of customers would rather learn about a product or service by way of video. Viewers retain 95% of a message when they watch it in a video, compared to 10% when reading it in text. 78% of people watch online videos every week, and 55% view online videos every day. 92% of users watching video on mobile will share it with others. 71% of people watch more video than they did a year ago. Video is expected to make up 82% of internet traffic by 2021. And, these are just a few statistics and these were pre-COVID 19 so, those #’s will probably increase even more now.

Video marketing is the closest thing to being with your patients yet being away from your patients. Human beings have a strong need for connecting with one another. Even human beings whose personality profiles are introverted, still have a need for human connection.  Also, with video marketing, your patients can watch and listen to your videos at their convenience whether it be early in the morning, lunchtime, late in the evening, or anytime and still feel connected to you and your practice.

The great news is that you do not need a full video production company (However there is a place in your marketing for a fully produced and edited video but, not necessary).  You can start by simply using your smartphone and laptop or Ipad. Today’s smartphones, Laptops and Ipads have high-quality video, just make sure you have good lighting and that there is nothing in your background that you do not want people to see.

Also, in today’s world people love reality which is why YouTube exists as well as the many reality TV shows.  YouTube is the number 2 search engine behind Google. You can create short videos of 90 seconds or less as research shows, the shorter the video, the more likely it will be viewed. (Research shows the Average Attention Span: Goldfish 9 seconds vs. Human 8.25 Seconds!) You can post your videos on YouTube, and Facebook and your website, as well as email your patient base your videos.

Having a Video Marketing Strategy and Plan is extremely important versus just doing random videos. Videos are not just the Future; they are here and now.  I believe strongly that now is the time to start implementing Video Marketing in your practice’s marketing plan because, someday soon, you will be invisible to Google, and Facebook and all of the Social Media platforms and eventually your patients and potential new patients if you do not have a consistent video marketing plan.  Imagine if you knew how important reviews were going to be for your practice three to five years before they became so critically important and, got 100’s of positive reviews before your closest competitor even started thinking about them? You are in that time now but for video, and this is bigger than reviews.

  • Patient Care Doesn’t Start at The First Visit

Patient Care Doesn’t Start at The First Visit

Welcome to 2020!  It’s time to consider how you can effectively engage and effectively provide patient care to current and potential patients outside of the office. With your current and potential patients consuming video content on a regular basis and needing a faster reply to their questions and concerns, you need to equip your practice and your team with the tools to meet these rising needs. Two of the biggest trends of 2019 (and 2020) are video marketing and a chat solution for your website.

You’re probably thinking that “video production is expensive, and I can’t afford to hire someone to monitor website chats”, and you would be correct. However, there are other options available! ChatBots have risen in popularity, and most importantly, effectiveness. If you go to any popular company’s site (example, Verizon) you’ll notice that they have a Chatbot that has been developed to meet the needs of their customers. You can find support documents and get answers to your questions quickly without having to call Verizon and sit on hold. Chatbots for Dental Practices can serve the same function and get the information that you need to turn your website visitor into a patient.

What Should I Look for in a ChatBot?
There are several different options and kinds of chatbots, however, if you are considering a chatbot, there are a few things you need to take into consideration. Number one is functionality. Is the addition of this chatbot going to slow down your website speeds and tank your SEO? If you have a good hosting plan in place, and a good website, probably not. However, there are chatbots out that due to how they were developed, they can slow your site down just enough to matter. The deciding factor for whether that new patient goes to your website vs your competitors can be 2 seconds of load time.

The Second topic of consideration is customizability. Every practice is different and using a pre-built chat template simply isn’t going to cut it. This is a tool that is supposed to quickly capture lead information and get it to your team to make reach out and establish contact with the patient. You want the chat flow to sound human and engage the patient so that they feel that their concerns and needs have been met, and to connect them to your practice.

The third, and last, topic of consideration is support. ChatBots can be wonderful tools, but they are just that. Tools need maintenance, and someone checking to make sure that your chats are being completed, and that your brand is being accurately represented. A solid support team (from your marketing company or chat provider) needs to have the ability to support the platform, as well as ensure that it is fully customized to the needs and tone of your practice.

How Can I Produce Video for My Practice & My Marketing Team?

According to Cisco, over 80% of the worlds internet traffic is projected to be video consumption by the end of 2019. With the traffic consumption being dominated by video, it’s important that you are producing video to continue engaging with your patients.

Did you know that YouTube is the 2nd largest search engine in the entire world? With billions of hours worth of content being consumed every single day, YouTube is another search engine that you can leverage to obtain more exposure and provide more content for your patients to consume. Producing video doesn’t have to be difficult, time-consuming, or expensive. There are DIY video marketing solutions that allow you to create engaging videos for your patients, within 15-20 minutes or less. You can also record video a number of different ways (such as your phone, iMovie for mac, and other programs). In order to get the most out of your video marketing efforts, it’s important to prep your topics, and yourself.

When preparing yourself, or your staff, to produce video for your business, it’s important to prepare the area. You want to ensure that the background looks organized and professional and that whoever is recording the video for your practice is in professional attire, preferably with company apparel. Next, you want to ensure that you have done some research on what you are creating a video for and create touchpoints for your team to help guide them along the recording process.

Lastly, practice your talking points in front of the camera when it isn’t recording. Projecting a confident, authoritative voice on whatever subject you are discussing is essential in curating engagement and getting people to watch your videos.

  • Three marketing strategies for small businesses to focus on in 2020

Three marketing strategies for small businesses to focus on in 2020

What we used to see in the Jetsons and futuristic movies is swiftly becoming our day-to-day reality.

“Each business is a victim of Digital Darwinism, the evolution of consumer behavior when society and technology evolve faster than the ability to exploit it. Digital Darwinism does not discriminate. Every business is threatened.”  Source

For 2020 Marketing Vision, Focus on User Experience

Of the top 50 marketing trends for 2020, the nucleus is a focus on improving the user experience (UX). According to the Nielson Norman Group, world leaders in research on UX, “User experience” encompasses all aspects of the end-user’s interaction with the company, its services, and its products.  Source

Basically, that means every business should be looking for dynamic and creative ways to improve how their customers experience their business at every touchpoint.

Again, overwhelming, right? Where do you start as a small business? What is within reach and will be the most effective? Each of the following three strategies will help you build more impactful and engaging encounters with potential clients and delight your current customers as well.

    Strategy 1: Omni-Channel Marketing

    Omni what? What does that even mean? Bottom line, it means creating a “… cohesive customer experience, no matter how or where a customer reaches out. { Source}

    Computer

    You most likely already have a multi-channel strategy. You have a great website, social media campaigns, and mobile marketing. The multi-channel experience is what most businesses invest in today. They have a website, blog, Facebook, and Twitter. They use each of these platforms to engage and connect with customers. However, in most cases, the customer still lacks a seamless experience and consistent messaging across each of these channels. { Source}

Is your customer experiencing consistent messaging across all engagement platforms? Is your website up-to-date with current images and incentives? Does your website messaging match your ongoing social-media content? Are you delivering fresh content?

The Omni-Channel approach no longer allows for segmented marketing strategies. Your website content and your social media brand messaging must be congruently current. Many businesses have one vendor managing their website, another vendor doing social media, and often the team is not informed of the ever-changing content. Having someone oversee every touchpoint to ensure uniformity is a must in 2020.

HINT: As an agency that offers all things digital for our clients, we can help ensure the cohesiveness of your strategies.

    Capture Connection

The other piece of an omni-channel experience for the consumer is about connection. Is it easy for your customer to connect with you and get the information they need; no matter where they are reaching out. Current and potential customers will expect to be able to converse with you via Facebook messaging, SMS/text messaging, and live chat on your website in 2020. Yes, you read that right, they will expect it.

Implementing an omni-channel conversational platform, a.k.a. chat-bot, that allows your potential and current clients to communicate with you no matter where they are supports a better user experience and allows you to capture leads in the critical moment they are searching for you.

Entrepreneur magazine said this about adding a chatbot to your website in 2020…

“Any business that has a website with traffic can benefit from a simple chatbot that answers the most common visitor questions and helps convert visitors into warm leads.”

Ok, on to strategy number two…

Strategy 2: Interactive and Conversational Content

Content is still king! Keeping blogs current and providing useful information (like dental tips) is vital to your ongoing success. Your content highlights your authority and expertise in your niche. And we can’t forget that your content is what the search engines use to connect your answers with potential consumer questions. Written content isn’t going anywhere anytime soon but technology and consumer’s expectations dictate the need for multimedia content that engages customers in different ways.

Your website is not a one-and-done strategy and its goal is not only to attract new clients but also to consistently engage with your current clientele. It should be an extension of your brick and mortar business.

So, what is interactive and conversational content?

    People Smiling

It’s video. How-to videos, testimonials, quick clips for social media sharing or going live on social media.

Written content demonstrates your proficiency while video content shows your personality.

It’s interactive forms like online quizzes, surveys, and polls that encourage the customer to engage with you rather than simply read about you. You can then use the results you get from the interactive content to create more content that is relevant and that your customers are hungry for. You can repurpose that content for social media campaigns, email marketing, and future blog posts.

This type of content surprises, attracts, and cuts through the consumer boredom. It leads them to converse with you in the process of learning more about you.

“Updating your site regularly with creative content that piques people’s curiosity and drives their buyer’s journey forward can turn visitors into clients.” Source

It’s webinars and keeping up on conversations people initiate on social media channels. Interactive and conversational style content builds the personal side of your brand. Allowing your current and potential customers to connect with you and your team on a more intimate level.

And last but not least, strategy number three to wrap up your marketing plan for 2020 is…

    Strategy 3: Micro-Moment Marketing

Micro-moment marketing is all about delivering what your customer wants when they want it.

Google says this about the micro-moment mindset,

“Micro-moments occur when people reflexively turn to a device—increasingly a smartphone—to act on a need to learn something, do something, discover something, watch something, or buy something. They are intent-rich moments when decisions are made and preferences shaped. In these moments, consumers’ expectations are higher than ever.”

They are broken down into four basic consumer needs, “I want-to-know moments, I want-to-go moments, I want-to-do moments, and I want-to-buy moments… and they’re game changers for both consumers and brands.”  Source

    4 Game Changing moments

Understanding that consumers are driven by different needs in each of these moments allows you to tailor your content and the connection you’re providing to meet their need in a more intuitive way.

    • Your service pages on your website, how-to and educational videos serve the “I want to know” moment.
    • Your Google My Business page serves the “I want to go” moment.
    • Your website forms, chat bot, text and social media messaging serve the “I want to do” moment.
    • And your online appointment scheduler, live-chat, and your receptionist serve the “I want to buy” moment.

Wrapping up your marketing plan for 2020 by focusing on tailored initiatives that create a cohesive conversational experience, engage the user in unique ways, and make the most of every opportune moment. The result… more productive lead conversion and a more delightful user experience.

  • Why is Consistency So Essential in Marketing and Business?

Why is Consistency So Essential in Marketing and Business?

For the most part, if you are consistent in business, you will grow and succeed where others fail. Consistency does not mean self-reliance, however. The most effective businesses and dental practices have a few things in common with each other. First and foremost, successful business owners know their strengths and weaknesses, and address the latter by surrounding themselves with skilled employees and vendors who are strong in those areas. Remember, to run a successful practice, you must run a successful business.

How do I set my business up for success?
The beginning of your practice is the most critical time for your new business. You want to make sure that you set yourself, and your business, up for long term success. Usually this includes doing research on your market, your location, and getting a game plan in place to handle everything from acquiring your supplies, staffing your office, and employing effective marketing solutions to get your brand out in front of patients. It’s overwhelming, and a lot of work for someone to do on their own. You can do it on your own, but a good leader learns to delegate tasks to others who have strengths in particular areas.

For example, let’s say that you are pretty good with the logistical side of your business, however one of your employees is very strong with supplies and inventory management. While you could do this, delegating this task opens up more bandwidth and time for you to spend on other tasks for your practice, or for spending time with your family. Another example is marketing. Learning the skills required to initiate an effective marketing campaign is not difficult. However, it consumes a large amount of time, and with how often the digital landscape evolves and changes, you would end up spending more time keeping up with the changes than you would actually marketing for your practice. Delegating this task to one of your employees, or a marketing company whose sole purpose is to develop and execute effective marketing campaigns reduces the burden and stress on you. It also generates consistency for your business. Effective marketers can produce consistent results for your practice. There will be fluctuations, and not every campaign will succeed, but for the most part, a good marketing team has tried-and-tested marketing strategies that work.

You and your team build YOUR reputation.
Often times as a dentist, you can provide dependable, honest services that your patients can rely on. It’s important to remember, however, that while your reputation is tied directly with your practice. Your employee’s actions also affect your reputation. If you build a team that can communicate effectively, and help your patients feel as comfortable and happy as possible, it helps your reputation improve in your community. You want to make sure that your team has good training, and someone with experience in running successful teams. Customer service makes and breaks businesses. In any business or industry, mistakes will happen. It’s a part of life that will never change. However, the outcome of that mistake occurring directly correlates with the skill and quality of your customer service team (hygienists, front desk staff, office managers, and you.)

Remember, most first-time patients are wary, and looking to trust your team. They want to make sure that someone is looking after their best interests and they need to be able to trust you and your team if you want to have them return for future dental needs. Most people will be forgiving of mistakes that happen if they are happy with your team, and if your customer service is top-shelf. This alone will help you retain more patients when mistakes happen because they have a solid relationship with you and your team. If your customer service is sub-par, when mistakes happen you will lose patients to your competition.

    Consistency & Quality.
For your practice to grow, you must consider the two most important parts of every successful business. Consistency, and quality. If you have quality services that produce happy and healthy patients, your business will grow. However, you need consistent quality in order to maintain growth. Think of it like owning a vehicle. You can have a vehicle that safely gets you from Point A to Point B without using too much gas, but if your car can’t consistently get you there with the same quality, then you will end up selling it for something more consistent.

Consumer trust is huge in the dental industry. Your patients come into your office trusting you to tell them what’s best, and to keep them healthy. If you develop a reputation for consistently producing happy and healthy patients, your positive reputation will develop and spread around your community like wildfire. However, the same can be said for negative reputations. Those spread even faster and with most consumers looking for reviews before ever calling you, it’s important that you can deliver the same high-quality services to every patient, every time.

  • I’m not on Facebook. How do I get to my business Facebook page?

I’m not on Facebook. How do I get to my business Facebook page?

How do I access my business Facebook page?

This could be one of the most common questions clients ask me.  The short answer is…before you can claim that you own a business, Facebook wants to know you’re a real-live human being.

You can’t create a business page from scratch. It must be connected to your personal account. This is Facebook’s policy, not ours. And really, it’s for your protection. It’s to safeguard users from the spammers out there. Think of it from that perspective. Would you want to be getting posts and advertisements from a business owned by someone not willing to show their face? Of course not. But that doesn’t mean that you must be an avid ‘Facebooker’ to have a business page. You just need to prove to Facebook that you have a pulse, live in a real town, and that you are claiming ownership of your business.

And because business pages do not have their own specific logins, that personal account is going to be your access to your business Facebook page. And if we are creating or managing your business page, we will need to connect you to your business page via that personal account.

So, if I create a personal account, do I need to post on it to get access to my business page?

No. It’s not necessary for you to consistently post to your personal account to maintain your business page. But you will need to make sure your personal account is set up properly to enable Facebook to authenticate your account before you or I can create your business page. You’re going to need:

    • A personal email address (not info@ or support@, etc)
    • Personal information such as your name, location, and your birthdate
    • A profile picture
    • And a post or two in the beginning

All combined this helps prove that the account is being created by a human being and not a robot. Without these things, your account will look spammy to Facebook and we can’t help you create and post on a business page.

You don’t need to post on a regular schedule, but we do recommend that you post to your personal page occasionally to prevent getting put in ‘Facebook Jail’ (meaning your account is frozen and you’re not able to continue posting or engaging).

Once I have my personal account set up, how do I give you or my team access to post on the business page?

I want to reassure you that just because your personal account is technically connected to your business page, that does not mean that people who have access to your business page can post or have any control of your personal account. You’re safe there!

Speaking of access…this is probably the most important thing I want to share with you regarding your business page security. There are three different permission levels you can assign to someone and knowing the appropriate level of access is crucial to ensuring your business page is safe and secure.

    • Moderator – limited access. A moderator can respond and engage but they can’t post. They can remove subscribers from the page if necessary.
    • Editor – mid-range access. An editor can post, respond, and engage on the page but can’t change the privacy settings or add/change page roles. They do have permission to change information about the business. e.g. business hours, company information, and page setup details.
    • Admin – Full access to everything. The key here is that one admin can remove another admin so in reality, the only people that should have this level of access is you and your trusted marketing agency.

Get a full breakdown of permission levels here: https://www.facebook.com/help/289207354498410

I have seen several clients who have given Admin level permission to an employee, a family member, their spouse, or a less than credible marketing representative. And then the employee leaves or they come to us for their marketing, or sadly they have marital issues, and they suddenly find their page has been ‘hijacked’ as a result of the estranged relationships.

MAKE SURE YOU HAVE ADMIN LEVEL ACCESS TO ALL YOUR SOCIAL MEDIA ACCOUNTS!

Make a list of all your social media accounts along with the current login and password information. Write them down and keep them in a secure place.

hint: a post-it-note in your desk drawer is not secure

Twitter and Instagram are different animals altogether; you do not need to have a personal account to create a business page. You simply need a login and password to create and access a business page.

I always advise a client to change the passwords to all their social media channels immediately if they terminate an employee. Especially for Twitter and Instagram since you are not able to limit access all along.

Bottom line, you need a personal account to access your business page but making sure the right people have the right access and the wrong people don’t is your big take away here.

  • How can I build engagement with my patients?

How can I build engagement with my patients?

In business, it’s important to take a look at growing trends on what your patients are doing before they ever call your practice, or schedule an appointment.  One of the biggest, and most important trends over the last 5 years is a sharp increase in your future and current patients looking for more content, and more ways to engage with your practice. Your patients want to build a relationship with your practice, and trust in your expertise and your friendly customer service. Modern dentistry is not just about providing high-quality dental care, it’s about making a positive impact on your community, and building trust and relationships with your patients.

How has patient engagement evolved over time?
As time presses on, and the day to day life changes and evolves, there has been one constant when it comes to operating a successful practice. You have to consistently produce. Producing good results will ensure that your patients are happy, and will return for services in the future. Producing or acquiring new tools and knowledge ensures that you stay at the top of your game and can offer more, and better, services to your patients. Producing content helps drive leads into your practice that will turn into patients. Years ago, flyers, posters, and newspaper ads met this need and distributed information easily and quickly. With the evolution of the digital age, the avenues of content production have expanded significantly. The need for digital marketing services like Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and Social Media are just as important as physical marketing like Direct Mail. It’s safe to say that by now most, if not all, dentists are investing some kind of digital marketing service. Whether that is AdWords, Social Media Engagement, or SEO, the success of these investments all revolves around one thing, high-quality content.

Do you need to produce content each month?
The short answer to this question is yes. However, it’s important to create your content strategically. Producing content randomly, without a strategy is like writing words on a piece of paper randomly. Each word means something, but it doesn’t convey a message until put into a sentence. When you are thinking of your content plan, the most important factor is consistency. Whether you are producing blogs to engage your patients, and help your SEO, to producing video to use for social media, consistency is critical. If you can consistently create quality content that engages both your patients, and your marketing platform (usually Google or Social Media) you will be able to establish yourself as an authority in the industry, improve your rankings and digital performance, and most importantly build trust with your patients and grow your practice.

Video content engages more people than ever before.
Looking back at the last few years, Video consumption has skyrocketed year over year. YouTube (the world’s 2nd largest search engine) serves close to 2 billion hours of video every single day. What does this mean for you as a dentist? Your patients are looking for video. There are several ways to produce video, but just like above, consistency is vital to getting your content to perform for you. While producing video content can be time-consuming, expensive, and difficult, there is no question that video marketing performs in a way that no other marketing strategies can. There is a simple explanation for this. Patients consuming your video are looking for authenticity.

Video helps build a relationship with your patients. It builds trust, and if you create your videos correctly, can convey your care and compassion for their well-being. Just like reviews secure a lead, or send them to a competitor, Video can build trust and a relationship with your patients before you ever meet them. Authenticity is the best way to build trust.

How can you create quality content while not interrupting your day?
The short answer is that you will experience some kind of disruption no matter what. However, it’s important to weigh all your options, and explore all avenues prior to making your decision. Does your current marketing vendor have services that can supplement your digital marketing? Are there other options out there that equip you with all the tools you need to produce quality content in as little time as possible? With the rise of Video Marketing becoming a popular investment for many dentists, it’s important that you are keeping up with your competition. Just like SEO or Social Media, Video Marketing is a competitive market. If you aren’t competing, then you are missing out on patients.

    Consistency is the secret.
The secret to success is consistency. From marketing to creating content, if you can produce quality content on a consistent basis you are going to perform well. Creating content every once a while can help your marketing efforts and your practice for a short time, but if you want to seriously perform and grow your practice, you will need to be consistent.

  • When should I start planning my holiday marketing?

When should I start planning my holiday marketing?

This is a great question. And to all my overachievers I would say to start planning the previous January. However, I know this is not a reality for most business owners. But waiting until all the Halloween candy has been given out will have you scrambling to create and implement your holiday marketing initiatives. Not to mention, your patient’s inbox will be filling up with offers from retailers that are competing for the same consumer dollars you are.

A New Bike for little Sarah…or a New Crown?

It’s important to remember that your competition is not only the doctor down the street, it’s every other bright and shiny thing your patient may want. A trip, a new kitchen, new clothes, gifts for their kids or grandkids, etc. Whatever it is that is catching their eye is your competition. This is true throughout the year, but at the holiday season, your competition grows exponentially.

Because healthcare, for the most part, is a need-based decision for the consumer it’s important to maximize your holiday marketing before they must make that decision between buying a new bike for little Sarah or a new crown on number nineteen.

    The Window of Opportunity…

    Christmas List

Whether you’re selling a retail product or healthcare, putting your message in front of the right people at the right time is key. I think the important thing is to find your window of opportunity.

    When does your customer start planning their holiday buying? It may surprise you but that the time is NOW! According to Google Trends, consumers start searching for holiday gift-giving ideas in August. { https://trends.google.com/trends/explore?q=Christmas%20gift%20ideas}

So, if your patients are already thinking about gifts to give, you should already be thinking about your holiday strategy and campaigns.

    • Encouraging them to schedule their appointments before their calendars are full of family dinners and holiday parties.
    • Seizing the golden “use or lose your insurance dollars” initiative.
    • Create value for your services “How to have a toothache free holiday”.
    • Offer gift suggestions like whitening or a new electric toothbrush.

Campaigns like that will get your patients thinking about taking care of their needs now before they must decide between Black Friday deals and a root canal.

Speaking of Black Friday, building your holiday campaigns around retail marketing pillars like Black Friday, Cyber Monday, Giving Tuesday, and Small Business Saturday is a great way to leverage what your retail competition is doing by offering your own creative specials and seizing that window of opportunity.

    Be Smart like Santa…

As the holidays draw closer, people are looking for last-minute deals, but you can’t wait until the last minute to decide what you will be offering or how you’re going to reach your customers. Even the age-old song shows us that Santa plans for his busy season.

“Making a list and checking it twice”

To answer your original question, “when should I plan my holiday marketing?” I say if it’s good enough for Santa, it’s good enough for us. So, plan now! We’d love to help you make that holiday marketing campaign list and check it twice to make sure your holiday marketing is the best it can be.

We want to build campaigns for you that will help you experience the greatest return on your investment and deliver great offers for your patients. And that takes time. Time to plan, time to build and time to implement.

  • Golden Rules for Your Website Content (PART TWO)

Golden Rules for Your Website Content (PART TWO)

Have you ever looked at your website and thought “I just don’t like this one part…” You’re not alone! Many business owners set out to build a website that appeals to them. Lovingly and with a virtual hug we say, “there’s more to this than if you like it”.

In case you missed reading the beginning of the conversation on website content ‘golden rules’ you can get caught up here.

Shouldn’t I build my website so that I like it?

The answer is “Yes! …and no”. Of course, you should be pleased with the end result. However, there’s so much more to deciding what goes on your website than simply if you like it or not.

This is sometimes the toughest hurdle for business owners to overcome in the building process. But to ensure you have a website that is not only something you’re proud of, but that actually delivers results for your business it’s important to understand golden rule #3 …

Golden Rule #3: It’s not about if YOU like it.

business man happy with his website

Of course, I want you to love your website. I enjoy hearing your excitement when we show you the finished product.

But more than that, I want you to love the results it brings you. I mean you have to live with it, but at the end of the day if it’s not working for you, if people aren’t calling or booking an appointment, then what’s the point?

With every word, bullet point, text placement and image we choose we are asking ourselves, “Does it function, will it work for this business? Will it attract their ideal client and motivate them to take action?”

Our choices are super deliberate. Graphically speaking, when we chose a particular picture to represent your patient experience, we look at every detail of that picture (age, race, shirt color, background color, the emotion that is conveyed by the photo) and every image must stay on brand. They all have to look like they belong. There’s no “because I thought it would look cool” or “I really love this picture.”

We run that level of processing on every decision we make for you.

    • What information should be presented on each page of your website.
    • What information needs to be repeated to educate the most visitors.
    • And what call to actions need to be placed to motivate everyone possible.

It’s the marriage of art and function that drives us to keep working until the website will work for you. We are meticulously intentional about every decision.

We want you to like the way it looks but if you recommend changes that we feel will are detrimental to reaching the broad spectrum and could be a barrier to attracting new patients, and we don’t attempt to steer you in a different direction, then we did you a disservice.

When we give feedback, it’s because we have seen what works and we are guiding you to a website that everyone will love, not just you.

Think of it this way, your website is not like a piece of art you hang on the wall to admire, it’s a tool in your toolbox to build your business. And do I really care what a hammer looks like if it gets the job done?

Yes, as designers we are still artists and we care about the pretty for sure. But our whole job, our driving passion is about finding that balance between art and function. We are trained to do both. It’s kind of a high for us actually. We love to find that sweet spot between beautiful and functional; we’re nerds about that.

    This is a Team Effort

We see our clients as a member of our design team. That’s why we work really hard to develop a relationship of trust at the forefront of the creative process. We want to have that foundation of mutual trust so that when it comes time to offer our feedback, you can trust that we are guiding you towards functionality rather than just “because we like it”.

We really don’t have an artist ego when it comes to your website. We are not designing for our taste either, we are building a foundation for you that will attract as many of your ideal customers as possible.

When it’s all said and done, of course we want you to be thrilled about your website. But we never forget that you are paying us because we can find that educating, motivating, appeal to the masses sweet spot for you. And that’s what will get your phone ringing!

Already part of the Ai Healthcare Marketing family but curious about how we can help you with your website content? New to Affordable Image and want to know how we can help get you a great new website? CALL NOW! We’ll help you get started before you can say “Golden Rules?”

  • What Is Content Marketing & How Does It Impact My Practice?

What Is Content Marketing & How Does It Impact My Practice?

In the world of digital marketing, content marketing is one of the most effective methods of building trust and brand exposure. From Search Engine Optimization (SEO), to Online Advertising, the content you select is vital to the success of your marketing efforts.

How Does Content Marketing Affect SEO?
In order to get the most out of your SEO services, it is imperative that you have quality, engaging content. Google wants to show their users fresh content that answers a question clearly and effectively. For your service pages and home pages, it is important to have content that is engaging and provides a positive user experience. This helps improve user experience and allows you to optimize more content for ranking purposes. In terms of Google, having unique and fresh content on the site regularly is critical to ranking for more keywords. The better your content, the higher your chances of securing more competitive keywords and getting in front of potential patients. However, it is important to not change the core content on your site once you have it optimized, and it starts performing well. In order to continue providing fresh content to your website, there are a number of things you should be doing.

Some of The Content You Can Post Includes:

    • Monthly Blogging
    • Google My Business Posts
    • Press Releases
    • Videos

Now you may be thinking, “why do I need to be producing content regularly?” This is a great question. The reason you need to have new content on the site is because Google at its core wants to show their users the best answer to any question that they type in. So, if you are composing articles and posting blogs about what questions are being asked, your blog has the opportunity to rank, or even receive a Google featured snippet. This can help give your SEO a boost, as it shows that Google is beginning to see you as an authority on that topic and in your industry.

How Does Content Marketing Affect Social Media Marketing?
When it comes to Social Media Marketing, you also need high quality content, albeit in a different way than you would with SEO. In the world of SEO, you want to have between 500-750 words of content per page, and make sure that it’s fine-tuned and dialed in to produce results over a long period of time. When it comes to Social Media, you want to post high-quality content that gets a patient to engage with your brand. You want to include pictures, video’s, and content that gets people to like, comment, and share your content. The goal is to build brand awareness, and engage with people in a positive way.

    What Makes Content Marketing Effective?
When it comes to content marketing, the secret to successful campaigns is to provide value to your patients. If you are able to provide content that is valuable to your audience, you will leap ahead of your competitors that are only posting blogs and social media posts to check the box and obtain minimal engagement. When you post high quality content that engages your reader and provides overwhelming value to them as a person as well as a potential patient, you build brand awareness and consumer trust.

How do you provide value with content? The secret to that is to answer questions! If you can compose blog posts, social media posts, and ads in a way that draws your visitors in and answers a question, you can count on that person turning to you the next time they need advice or help.

Content doesn’t always have to be blogs, articles, or social media posts. Something as small as taking pictures of your office, or of your brand can have huge impacts down the road. Nowadays, consumers are doing more and more research into whom they conduct business with. Having pictures of your office, regular social media activity, and routine content published to your site shows that you care, and that you will give them a better experience than an office that may not be performing these activities.
